The Science Behind The Formula

At Fasted Rebels, transparency isn't optional. Here, ingredient by ingredient, are the scientific and regulatory sources behind the Lyte & Loaded formula — dosage, role, and safety.

Creatine (Creatine Monohydrate) — 5,000 mg

The most researched and safest ergogenic supplement currently available, according to the official position of the International Society of Sports Nutrition (2017): safe in both short- and long-term use, up to 30 g/day for 5 years, in healthy populations. Zero calories — doesn't break your fast.

Magnesium (Magnesium Malate) — 60 mg

A cofactor in over 300 enzymatic reactions in the body, including energy production, muscle and nerve function, and blood sugar regulation, according to the National Institutes of Health.

Sodium (Sea Salt) — 1,000 mg

An essential electrolyte for fluid balance and nerve and muscle function. Reference sodium intakes are documented by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM).

Potassium (Potassium Chloride) — 200 mg

The primary intracellular cation, necessary for maintaining fluid volume and normal muscle function. Insufficient intake is associated with renal and cardiovascular concerns according to the NIH.

Stevia Leaf Extract

Highly purified steviol glycosides are recognized as “Generally Recognized As Safe” (GRAS) by the FDA since 2008 — over 50 notifications accepted without objection between 2008 and 2018. Pure stevia has a glycemic index of zero, and available studies show it doesn't cause a significant insulin spike at consumed doses, unlike some sweeteners that contain bulking agents (dextrose, maltodextrin) — absent from our formula.

Natural Flavors

Defined under U.S. regulation (21 CFR 101.22) as extracts derived from natural sources (spices, fruits, vegetables, plants) whose primary function is flavoring rather than nutritional. Recognized as GRAS.

Silicon Dioxide (Silica)

An anti-caking agent recognized as GRAS by the FDA, limited to 2% of total food weight (21 CFR 172.480). Re-evaluated by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) in 2024, which raised no safety concerns, including for vulnerable populations.
